The UN-GGIM: Europe Line of Work on SDGs, a subgroup of the Working Group on Data Integration, held a workshop on April 15-16 in Lisbon. The aim of this line of work is to contribute to showcasing the added value of integrating geospatial data, including Earth Observation, with other data to address SDG indicators.

Earth Observation has a key role to play in monitoring the SDGs, as has been demonstrated by a variety of projects funded by ESA.

During the meeting our partner EARSC introduced the concept of the Stakeholder Expansion Facility to the WG members, who are key representatives of national statistical and mapping agencies.

The SEF team will engage further with the members of this WG in the coming months, aiming to better understand the stakeholder community, their needs and gaps, and to identify a roadmap whereby SEF can help to address these needs.
