Climate change, geopolitical developments, and the ever-increasing energy demand push governments to further accelerate the green energy transition. This transition comes with various challenges, including ESG considerations as well as operational issues such as balancing the grid with intermittent energy production (from e.g. wind and solar). 

A variety of current and planned projects supported by ESA Applications contribute to the domain of carbon, energy, and the green transition. These cover a wide range of fields including carbon MRV, emission monitoring, renewable energy planning and support to cities and municipalities.
